"Dont feel defeated yet, i need you more than you think, il heal those wounds, unless your systems heal themselves beforehand, as for now, i beleive that the roof holds some hope." Barak stated, looking at her out of the corner of his eye, after a few seconds, making sure she was seemingly okay to move, he pressed on up the flights of steps, steadily, soon leading to the roof.
There it is again!: Barak thought to himself, ever scince he got the idea of an exit, adrenalin kicked in, but at the same time, as his hand neared the ajar door, he had the feeling of being condemned to this place, but the more troubling feeling he felt was eyes, eyes peering through his entire body as if a pin was being shoved into a voodoo doll.
Pulling the door open, he wasent pleased to find another brick wall in his path, clenching his right hand into a fist, he simply punched with all of his power, causing him to stumble to the left slightly, shortly afterwards, the wall crumbled, revealing a new passage.
"Although i feel like we are damned to hell, theres always a way to break free, right?" Barak spoke lightly, giving a smile to Abla.

Her leer was a mask for all the swirled thoughts within. The product of her worry, nervousness, anxiousness. A birth from her frustration, confusion, and closterphobia. Locked in a building with no idea of how or why. No exits to at least give a bit of hope, to give at least a slight idea that something could be on the other side. No, just walls. Just solid encasements.
And the only other being that seemed to be an ally was one her own society gave her orders to fight against. One that the NeoMafia considered an enemy. He was the only source of help, of assistance. If she followed her said duties, she would be damning herself, moreso than already.
Abla's pistol was reholstered, her dark eyes dragged from the sight of the half-breed above. She walked up the steps until her position was behind his, avoiding his sight at all costs. Staring off at the ground, the assassin awaited his next move, deciding to follow him from now on.
Her cover as an assassin was blown, her good shooting arm was crippled, and she was loosing blood slowly but surely. It was not the time to be battling those who wished not to battle. In a word, she felt defeated.

All The Little Branches is a is an intermediate-level multiple-game board with a focus on developing writing skills, increasing member involvement in plots, and providing fun role-playing opportunities; game genre ranges from surreal fantasy to animal realism.
There are currently five games at ATLB:
The Hybridism Cycle is composed of two games, Contretemps and Salmagundi; both explore the possibilities and difficulties of human/animal hybridization without succumbing to the glamour of nature-worship. In the forer, an experiment gone wrong has caused all the living beings in the world to take on characteristics of other species. The human world falters as animal instincts compromise the efficiency of society; soon, it seems political and social upheaval will tear down civilization itself. In Salmagundi, humanity has fallen; but it has left the legacy of the hybrids, who are inclined to create primitive human societies warped by their animal instincts. In both games, multi-species animal hybrids must cope with the strangeness of conflicting urges. The RPG Dr. Circelli's introduces a world in which animals are transferred into human bodies as part of an experiment meant to delve into animal psychology, the abolishment of physical disabilities, and immortality via technology. Conflict between animal instinct and human expectations, the ethical questions generated by the transfer, and interaction between the staff and characters generate fuel for player-governed plots. At Tower, the player’s personal characters are abducted from their own universes and plopped into a bizarre skyscraper, where they must cope with each other’s antics as well as the fickle changes of the environment. The focus of the game is on harassing the characters and having fun doing it, with little attention paid to serious plot. All boards which contain character information are members-only areas. The Minigames allow players to create their own RPG threads without any constraints on settings or rules.
Activity is low, but I live in a state of hope that advertising will fix that.
To the site admin: your minibanner is up at ATLB; here's the code for ours, if you don't mind putting it up:

"Ouch..." Barak muttered to himself as he felt the bullet go through him and out the other side.
"You never told me you haven't met a demon who can;t read a lie when its a lie,Abla?" he asked her, not turning to look at her, instead, he simply continued the sentance, not letting her answer that particular question.
"I beleive Ioric is behind this, he's had his eye on me for a while now, ever scince i destroyed part of his base a few months back, as for you, i don't understand why he has his eyes set on you, however, your not in a stable condition to be shooting at me, if you don't stop, then i will have to incapacitate you by force."
Taking a deep breath, it took alot out of Barak to threaten another being, regardless of race, however, he had to keep his front and stood there, waiting for her next actions.

Yeah, you better go up there..." She mumbled under a drowsy breath. "You threaten me, you open a damn door to some black room, almost getting us, me, killed...you better damnsite get away from me..." Her remarks were for her ears alone, the low tones barely echoed at all as she took her time down each step. ...Abla?..."Alright you bastard, what's going on?" She had told him her name was Indi. She knew she did...Abla made it a good point to use her assassin name with any possible threat. Hell, it seemed to have become her real name. The woman turned and looked up in Barak’s direction, awaiting an answer before firing her already raised pistol.

Barak watched as Abla walked away, curiosity would have spurged him to ask her where she was going, but judgement over the past few hours had caused him to suddenly realise, that she did things alone, and after concidering the amount of pain he'd get into if he tried to reason with her into working as a pair, he let her go unquestioned.
Brushing a few strands of hair from his face, he blinked and stretched a few more times before feeling colder now than before, noticing that either it was him, or the whole building just kept getting colder.
"Abla?" Barak called, but was hesitant about waiting, instead, he continued to shout his message. "Im heading to the roof, there's bound to be a way out of here." Eventually, mustering the will to move on, Barak limped in the opposite direction of Abla, heading for the stairwell leading to the roof, there was bound to be salvation in damnation.

The assassin noticed movement in her sleep, Barak's woken state triggering her to become alert as well. She looked over to see the halfbreed near her, and shifted away to add some distance. Her head was throbbing, her arm was almost numb on the parts uninjured, and the gash was still bleeding, though the jacket provided some resistance. In an act of habit, Abla pulled out a pocket watch and flipped it open. A second later it was returned. "Three hours..." She thought. "...three fucking hours." Abla was no longer in the best of moods. The woman stood, sliding upwards on the wall for support. Dizziness was something to be avoided when falling could prove fatal. Especially on these steps. Without a word to the other captive, Abla made her way down the stairs. A search for something she highly doubted existed anymore. At least maybe she could hope it reappeared or something.
After the longest five seconds of his life, the view almost took what breath he had left out of him. Biting his own lip til blood drew, he looked behind and saw the creatures true form once more, a grotesque mixture of limbs of both human, and animal alike, it got worse as he realised he couldn't spot a single pair of eyes, or a mouth, but it still made a horrible screech as it attempted to make a grab for his legs. "Don't...look..." Barak wheezed, trying to make some form of contact, instead, he squeezed his grip on her for a few seconds then weakened it very slightly, trying to assure her that things would be okay. Altering his trajectory from up, to down, he tilted his body until he was facing the ground directly, looking down at the creature, looking around, he immediatly spotted a tree that was broken, leaning at a 45 Degree angle on another tree. That was his target. Barak kept Nanami in a firm grasp as he plummeted to the ground, using the last of his adrenalin rush to force some power out of his feet, pushing them faster to the ground, within arms reach of the tree-tops, Barak changed his position and landed with both feet on the tree trunk, sliding down it, hitting most branches, cutting himself a few times in the forhead and one down the eye. "When you feel that bastard on your tail, blast it to hades." Barak confirmed to a presumably concious and aware Nanami as his feet touched the grass, and with no moment to relax, sprinted at his top speed of 332MPH.
((hope this is an alright post to work with, i am kinda side-tracked with alot of stuff heh. Sorry!))
Biting her lip apprehensively, Nanami slowly put her arms around his neck and laced her fingers together. She didn't want her arms tight enough to choke Barak, but neither did she want to fall off. Well, hopefully this would be alright. As he announced that he could still see the creature, she closed her eyes and exhaled, trying to quell her fear.
He launched off of the ground and they went rocketing up past the treetops. Nanami's eyes went wide open in surprise, despite that she had figured he would take a similar course of action. She couldn't help but look down, and gasp at what she saw. Normally, she wasn't afraid of heights, but this was pushing it. There was a creepy vine monster after them, and they were soaring through the air, far above the ground.
If Barak glanced at her hands, he would see her knuckles going white, from clinging to each other so hard. If he wasn't so focused, he would possibly be able to feel her trembling as well. The water nymph usually pulled off a cool and collected exterior, but her facade was slowly crumbling. She tried to distract her gaze at the ground underneath them by listening to what he had to say, but she couldn't really hear him. There was something about plummeting...No! No plummeting! However, her objections were silenced before they even came out of her mouth, since she was too terrified to say anything. Instead, she buried her face in Barak's back, gritting her teeth.
((OOC:laughed at the last part there, i got something similar lioke that down in my story im workin on, too funny to see it again from someone else ^^))
Barak secured his hands on her legs, keeping a stable grip, and lifted his neck enough so she could get her arms around, then lowered again. "Don't worry, this isn't one idea i like either, however....it is still out there ya'know? I can see it." Barak had hoped to keep it to himself that he could see directly into the things body, he knew what it looked like now, and saw that it had spread its vines in a circle around them, waiting to spring an attack. But he knew how weary she was about this, and guessed that she already knew, or was just uncomfortable, either option spurred a hurry in Barak's next move. "Hang tight." he warned her, his crimson eyes shutting partially as he crouched down on the floor, then pushed himself up in a leap, crimson covering his feet as he kept accelerating past the tree's, and into the sky, looking down, he saw the vines accelarting after them. He tilted his body forward in a hunched position so it was if he was laying head down in the ground, crouched, and pushed forward off of nothing. Speding across the sky. "This is only temporary..." Barak shouted to her through the wind, trying to keep some oxygen in him, and strength. "I got a 5 second glide before i have to plummet and sprint." After that, he remained silent, conserving energy.
